grahamstown street style: sweet love vintage

cebisa

i love her style, she always looks amazing e-v-ery-day! she's a thrifter and she got her awesome velvet body suit with lace detail (i hope you can see it) for R20 in king williams town. her awesome grandpa jersey is courtesy of the sunshine hospice right here in grahamstown. don't you love her style?

i keep thinking about how much i'm going to miss this place next year... the energy, the people, the scenery. grahamstown is a really amazing place...

the story of a shoe

" few people know how to take a walk. the qualifications are endurance, plain clothes, old shoes, an eye for nature, good humor, vast curiosity, good spech, good silence and nothing too much"
 -ralph waldo emerson

these vintage brown leather ankle boots are my friend suvania's. i loved them from the moment i saw them. she got them from her mom - once again proving that ALL the best items can't be bought in stores anymore! they are beautiful shoes and i found myself trying to figure out where su's mom wore them, what she wore them with or even where she got them!

what would you wear these shoes with?

my style: ebony & ivory

i found these pictures when i was going through my pictures. they were taken in port alfred when shibu, lauren and i spent the day there a few months back. i still had hair then! i've never actually worn this dress out, cause i get a little self concious that its a bit short but i had fun taking pictures in it

(earrings - selfmade, vintage white dress, zoom black ankle boots, shibu's black bag)

i love this bridge so much. thank you to lauren for having such an amazing eye for all things
awesome.

i feel like i look so strange with hair! haha, what do you think?

kookin' with khanya

yesterday, my housemates and i had friends over for sunday lunch and this is one of the dishes that we prepared. i looooove to cook and i'll randomly share some of the things i'm experimenting with.

large potatoes, cheese (preferrably chedder), spring onion, milk, sour cream, salt and pepper, bacon, and butter. i like using garlic and herb flavored butter
microwave the potatoes for about 4 mins. be sure to puncture them with
a fork so they don't explode

let them cool for a bit, then cut in half and scoop out some of the potatoe
flesh, but be sure to leave enough to make sure your potatoes keep their shape
this is what they should look like. scoop the flesh into a big bowl
chop up some spring onion
add the sour cream to the scooped out potatoes
add cheese (about 2 cups, but its up to you), green onion, butter, milk (about 1 cup)
salt and pepper
mix it all together until smooth
scoop the mixture back into your potatoes
fry your bacon until it is crispy and golden
cut your bacon into little peices
mix the cheese, spring onion and bacon together in a seperate bowl
sprinkle your mixture onto the scooped out potatoe
one of my housemates kelly trying out the potatoe mixture :)
place on a baking tray and place in the oven for about 15 minutes
then:
you're done and ready to serve!

hope its been helpful! if you try the baked potatoe out, let me know how it went!

my style: retro striped

it's been so long since my last post. i've really missed my candy lovers!
a lot has happened in the last week or so. i chopped all my hair off and started exams
which are actually just messing with my lifestyle -- its depressing.
bulelwa took  these photos when we were on our way to campus and she insisted that i don't pull my 'usual poses' - i have 3 poses that i take turns recycling in  almost eeeeevery photo.
 but don't we all?

(vintage striped top, belt - london market, shorts- meltz, stalkings - woolworths, brogues - mr price, rings - stolen from my besties)

to everyone writing exams - all the very best! to everyone working - have an amazing week ahead! and to everyone doing everything in between - be good at it!

all my love
